Curtis joined Mastercard Casino List Canada to run the same checks on casino payment guides, where an outdated fee or a wrong legal status costs readers real money. He doesn’t test casinos himself. His work starts when a reviewer’s draft arrives: every claim needs a source he can open, and every date needs a check against the regulator or the bank that published it.
Hockey Career
Before his editorial work, Curtis spent two decades as an NHL goaltender, known to fans as “Cujo”. Born in Keswick, Ontario, in 1967, he played college hockey at the University of Wisconsin and signed with the St. Louis Blues as an undrafted free agent in 1989. He announced his retirement in January 2010.
- Played for the St. Louis Blues, Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, Phoenix Coyotes and Calgary Flames between 1989 and 2009;
- Won Olympic gold with Canada at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City;
- Finished his career with 454 regular-season wins, was selected for three NHL All-Star Games and received the King Clancy Memorial Trophy in 2000;
- Worked as a goaltending consultant for the Carolina Hurricanes in 2016–17 and published his autobiography, Cujo: The Untold Story of My Life On and Off the Ice, in 2018;
- Was inducted into the St. Louis Blues Hall of Fame in 2025.
What Curtis Checks Before a Page Goes Live
- Bank rules: cash advance fees, interest rates and gambling blocks, checked against each bank’s current cardholder agreement and its revision date;
- Legal status: which provinces run regulated markets, which operators appear on the iGaming Ontario and AGLC lists, and how each licence is described;
- Numbers: deposit limits, payout times and bonus figures, checked against the reviewer’s test log and the casino’s terms;
- Responsible gambling: age rules, helplines and the wording around playing on credit.
Editorial Standards
Curtis keeps the team’s editorial rules: a fact without a source stays off the page, a legal statement names the regulator, and no review calls an offshore licence legal everywhere in Canada. He also decides when a page needs a full re-check, for example after a bank updates its cardholder agreement or a province changes its rules.
